Ms.
Janet Evans has done a wonderful job in presenting her young readers her book
regarding the six top turtles of the world: Green, Hawksbill, Kemp’s Ridley,
Loggerhead, Leatherback and Olive Ridley Sea Turtles.
Starting
with the general facts about sea turtles; the author then precedes to give us
the complete scientific name for each of the turtles listed above [Kingdom,
Phylum, Class, Order, Family, Genus, and Species.] This is followed by the
physical characteristics of each turtle, the reproductive cycle of females, the
diets, habits and the habitants each lives in during their lives.
While
highly informative, the writing is easily understood even by early readers and
parents to share the book with their children. The photos in the book serve to
help illustrate some of the facts being presented.
For
helping parents educate their children regarding some of the turtles in the
world of animals I’ve given this book 5 STARS.
I
